The federal government has created a program called USA Jobs: Pathways for Students and Recent Graduates to Federal Careers. Visit their website at www.usajobs.gov to search for job openings in the federal government ranging from internships to summer job work programs to full time jobs. New openings appear as federal agencies post them so interested students are encouraged to check the website frequently.

The Metro Warriors are looking for high school and college students interested in serving as mentors for their summer robotics program. Experience is a plus but not required. Mentors will work with elementary age students in various metro-accessible locations throughout the DC area. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union runs a tuition-free, five-year apprenticeship program. Students are trained as electrical and telecommunication workers, while earning a paycheck. They spend one day every two weeks in the classroom and the remaining days on the job.
